One of these day's I'm going to figure out which link's I can and can't put in a thread....really, I will...
Anywho, from what I read on the TSA site, it sound's like you can get a TWIC card, after 7 years, but your not disqualified. WWW. TSA. Gov/ frequently asked questions. ( no spaces) Under part B Interm disqualifiying offences.
Hireable? Well if you can get a TWIC card to be able to drive into the port, I would think someone would hire you to do just that.
I know out here( Midland/Big Spring area), alot of companies want you to come in and FTF with them, they give you BS over the phone. I'm not sure I would do that without a back up plan...OTR back up plan.

I'd contact a lawyer and see about getting an expungement. Best of luck, wannabe driver! -
DO NOT even try ENGLAND. They will probably tell you, "Sure, you killed someone? Grew pot? No problem, you're approved." You go down there, start school and 3 days later they send you home on your own dime. If you look at someone funny they would probably send you home, I wouldn't trust them.

I don't know about where your at, but here in MD I have a better chance of hitting the lotto then getting an expungement. In my state it is my understanding the only way to get it expunged is a direct pardon from the Governor. With your conviction being narcotics related, I'm guessing you are going to find the same thing in the state where you are.

Same here; no expungement or sealing possible w/ drug charges in IL as of now, even though there is a law soon going to the Governor's desk that allows for post trial adjudicative mitigation for certain offenses (mine would qualify). I have a lawyer; he's been paid already to watch the situation and file when/if possible. It's not that expensive.

Call Roadmaster. The guy said if you dont qualify we wont enroll. Dont know if I fully believe that, but.....
I have a felony of poss. of controlled sub. that will be 10 yrs. old next mth. I didnt tell him it was sealed just to get his reaction.
Ok, looks good. Can you start school in 2 weeks!
There is hope.
Now im trying to figure out if im going to admit to a sealed felony or just roll with it! -
Jokingypsy gave best advice. Go with company sponsored training where you have a job after u pass cdl test! That's the only way I would go. Sounds like you don't have $3500 to "waste" on cdl school if u can't find a company to hire you. I know a felon from my school that never got hired...that was in 2012.
But keep in mind if u do decide to pay for school. If you don't have a job in 30-60 days after getting license you will have hard time getting hired alone, not even throwing the felony on top of it. So you have to weigh that seriously!
Company training is way to go in your situation. Keep that $3500 handy in case you don't want to do your 1yr contract with company after you get cdl so you can "pay" them back for training u. I'd tough it out the year...will look better for your next cdl job.
Good luck in whatever you decide.jjsiegal Thanks this.
