Engine reving while driving

    got a 99 volvo n14 while im driving in 9th & 10 th gear when i accelerate the engine is just reving the rpms, changed throttle sensor on pedal and speed sensor on trans, any one got a clue whats goin on?

    Clutch slipping. Might be able to get it adjusted but most likely to late? Will require replacement.

    sounds like the clutch is gone to me.

    If it revs up in gear with no change in road speed, your clutch is cooked.

    Think i am #6 on its the clutch. Also should smell clutch if you can pull over after this happens. Free play in clutch pedal may be different. Not sure if volvo has a hydraulic assist. Mayby that keeps your free play in the pedal. No experience with those.

    It’s the clutch, unless you resting your foot on the clutch pedal instead of the dash.
