I’m in high school and I play on driving in my state straight out of high school. I need advice. If I went to a bigger state such as Texas (I’m currently in Georgia)would I get more miles=more money?

The Texas economy is rather large compared to Georgia. The taxes are also less. I would say that the chances are very good you would do better in Texas. Especially if the government starts cracking down on companies that hire illegal immigrant drivers.Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

That’s what I was thinking. Do you know of any companies that will hire an 18 year old straight out of school?
-
Specifically, no I know nothing of in-state jobs. You need a job that will keep you inside Texas (or Georgia) to stay legal until age 21 or 22. (Not sure if its 21 or 22.)

Most of all companies will require 2 years of experience unless u find one that could either team u as a team driver ( i dont recommend) or a local may intrastate company that will get u enough experience, in tx they always hiring flatbed driver hauling pipe on the northen part, odessa, lubbock, midland they offer very well pay and sometimes is worth to hang in there coupleof years make good money and go on u own after that, my 2 cents on it. Good luck

JB Hunt recruiter telling me .56 cents a mile rate. Should I believe her??
Amazon dedicated account?? -
Sounds possible if you have a couple years experience. How many miles per week are drivers on that account averaging? What is the average length of haul?
If you are pulling 6 x 300 mile loads a week, 56 CPM doesn't make you a lot unless there other ways to make money on the account. And if that is the case, you will want to know what those ways are.
