Glad to hear it. These LTL companies aren't like some carriers where you interview one day and are in the truck the next. I applied to all the bigs in my area at the beginning of November several years ago, and it was the middle of February before I was hired for good.
To be honest, I suspect I only got hired with my company because my wife has a professional relationship with one of the sales people who put a bug in the hiring manager's ear about my application. I'm not sure how I feel about that, but I got the job.
Ethical...well, not really ethical but looking for opinions

Same here. Did a phone interview, then a follow on interview with the TM. Had to do a driving test and a physical the following week. TM did tell me we are along far enough to give me a start date here soon.
After all is said and done, it would be a 6 week long process from online application to the handshake that welcomes me to the company. I did include the two week notice I am giving my carrier in those numbers.Rusty Trombone Thanks this. -
Well hopefully it won’t take 3 months, but I’m still working in the meantime so oh well if it does.Bob Dobalina Thanks this.

Hey, it got ya the job. Do what you got to do sometimes.

Nothing wrong with that, it’s just networking. That’s how a lot of people get corporate/office type jobs.

My TM knew the sales guy at my last job and asked him what they thought of me over there, then proceeded to steal me from them after the sales guy apparently reported back some good stuff about me. Sometimes it's like everybody knows everybody in this business.Cardfan89 and road_runner Thank this.

Don't celebrate early but that Skype interview usually means you're in (provided you aren't a terrorist and don't have to study for your drug test!).Rusty Trombone Thanks this.
