A while back there was a couple deer just walking thru the yard and look in the living room window just acting calm and casual,it was so cute.Every once in a while i'll see the same 2 walking in some other yard.We live close to a grave yard, they come from there.
Every single time I have ever seen a deer he runs away

We have seen trucks hit elephants in Botswana.
We have ban our drivers from running that stretch of about 100 miles at night.
The Elephants usually die but not immediately.
It is terrible to witness.
The family members will often hang round the offending truck for days making it impossible for a wrecker to get close.skellr and NDBADLANDS Thank this. -
Haven't hit any yet but more than a couple close calls.
When you see one run across the road a second often follows.
If they're in that frozen 'deer in the headlights' state the sound of the jake will get them moving a lot of times.
Moose, had a few close calls with them also. Those buggers are huge yet almost invisible. You're likely to pick up on a mouse running up the shoulder before you see the moose standing on it. Nothing reflective about a moose. -
Unless you want to explain to the boss how you ran the truck dry on coolant stop and check as soon as it is safe to do so.

Oh I have hit two birds for the first time in my life in this truck though. One was near my windshield and tried to do a u turn then BAMP! and the second one looked like he was flying away from my truck in the same direction so I was slowly catching up to him and he finally hit my grill. I looked in the mirror and saw him rolling down the highway.

You have that right on the moose. Almost invisible till too late.
Almost missed one in Newfoundland a week or so ago. The moose stopped and looked back at the truck, shook its head and took off into the night.
Only minor damage since I got slowed down good.
Drivers in Newfoundland had said, if you see a moose running it is too late. -
Just don't try to scare them off with the air horn.

a friend of mine hit a deer head on (T-Boned the Deer) with his crotch rocket at 70mph a few years ago, they scooped him off the interstate, a few months in the hospital, 9 months out of work. But he lived to tell the tale.
