Everyone I know from my class has quit their company already

True on all accounts. Sad, isn't it?

 

How many of those quitters had schooling funded by WIA or Pell Grants ? Government funding should not be available for CDL mill training .

Its o.k They can just pass those costs on down to us working folks,and we can just add it to the pile of never ending szhit that we will never be able to get paid off.
I agree with your post.
At the least there should be stipulations for getting funded,and those that hire drivers to use and abuse them,and those that quit early.
I took my last 3800 bucks to pay for my school,while working full time during the week.I didnt know duh gubment would have stroked me out a check,til I got to school.
Hell,I was the only one that wasnt getting assistance.

Well if you believe that you have to "put in your time" before you get a good hometime job then you'll never find one. From day one I never went OTR, just like many others. Don't fall into that trap newbie, otherwise that's just what you'll settle for. The good hometime or local jobs are there for newbs, you just have to put in the leg work to find them. Good luck

I have always wanted to do this, from being a small boy around my dad's trucks. I ended up doing 20 plus years in the Navy and here I am, starting orientation tomorrow. I can't tell you how many times I have told my wife that this is NOT your everyday job and until we get into our routine with it, things will be tough. There are going to be challenges I will face that will make me question my decision, but at the end of the day, I KNOW I AM DOING WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TOO DO.
