There are many legends about the 'Crazy Woman.' One says it was named for an Indian woman, left to live alone in her teepee here, who went insane. The more common story told is the violent and tragic tale of the settler who witnessed the capture and scalping of her husband by Indians, which drove her to insanity.

You know I lived around the San Antonio area for about 25 years before I moved to Corpus, and still maintain a lot of very close ties, and this is the first time I've ever heard that story.

I wonder if Rodney Hayden had that story in mind when he wrote The Cowboy From Kicaster Creek.

Local drivers who can't afford to pay for a parking spot need to reserve their parking spot somehow, right...

Same problem Memphis, TN has, I hear. They call their ####ty ground Yazoo Clay though, if I remember right.

Then you know about the ghost railroad tracks across Shane Rd.
The Donkey Lady Bridge over Elm Creek on Applewhite Rd.
The ghost’s that walk along Gembler Rd. from the haunted Red Berry Estate.
Joe Ball and his alligators that he fed with people in Elemendorf in the 1930’s. His salloon building still stands near hwy 181.
