If it helps - the DAC cannot be used 100% for verifications, no matter what. All work history within the last 36 months has to be verified directly with the carriers you worked for. DAC is an easy way to get a good look at stuff, but the official verification, along with Drug & Alcohol testing, has to come directly from the employer or their assigned verification company (DriverFacts, DriverIQ, etc). Been that way since 2004.
I think its section 391 of the FMCSA handbook, but I don't have one handy in the sleeper right now.

I'm sorry, but what you just posted is 100% rubbish! There is NOT ONE word in part 391 Subpart C that backs you up. This subpart is the section that covers investigations and inquiries. I linked to the rule. I would also add that one of the reasons DAC is even in business is to help comply with 391. These rules are complex and in some cases, a small carrier can pull a DAC on a driver that is already formatted to satisfy the DQF rule.
I don't know where you are getting this 36 months thing. I know 391 mentions 3 years, but not the way you are saying. I challenge you to find a rule that states clearly that maybe 1000 carriers or more are breaking the law by using DAC the way you just mentioned. I'm done with that ridiculous comment, and will post this link!

Hire Right is DAC for all practical purposes. I don't know the EXACT business relationship. It may be DAC switched its name to HireRight or HireRight is the online name, etc. Hireright.com is where you request and check your DAC report. Whether you ask for your report online or to be mailed to you it will take 15 days.
DAC/HireRight is governed EXACTLY the same way as a credit reporting agency like Experien or Transunion. You have the same right to AT LEAST 1 free copy per year, right to dispute entries, right to have your statement about an entry supplied to anyone asking to see your report etc. -
HireRight is an employment verification company that also contracts out into the non-trucking industry. Also, it is important to understand that HireRight is not the only company that does this, but I think they are one of the largest and I think they are international. In the case of any industry, they can help with regulatory compliance with quick and legal information. Love em or hate em, they do take a lot of the leg work off carrier HR depts with their DAC report. I know this for a fact!

drove for over 35 yrs and never was put in to the"DAC" data base.
a lot of companies only post bad reports and most smaller ones (100 or less trucks), I've driven for, don't even bother with it at all.
they are also a private company and not regulated by what a company can post. false or not.Wargames Thanks this. -
