In Georgia, it’s DDS. They are open Tuesday through Saturday. And truthfully aren’t real helpful over the phone. This is usually because the people answering the phone are the same ones working the counter and they are busy.
Most offices have a more experienced person who handles CDL but that doesn’t mean they know it all. I have to drop by a DDS to get my CDL corrected because they left off the tanker endorsement but put on the no Hazmat in tank container restriction.
First question someone would say is, why I didn’t notice it when they issued the license? Georgia mails the license. They give you a paper permit every time you make a change to your license, then mail you the card. The paper permit looks nothing like the license.
Failed combination written test today. Do I have to retake/pay again?

I am from Georgia but now live in Virginia. Your reply here makes no sense. If the same people that answer the phones are the same ones that work the counter they deal with this stuff almost every day and know these things from muscle memory! I have made calls to the DDS in My hometown Toccoa as well as Athens and In Lawrenceville! Every single call I got direct answers within seconds of my request.
However, by contacting I was meaning actually go pull a number and sit down and wait. Be ready to test and see if they will let you test. If not ask why and when. This is not rocket science and you don't have to have advanced degrees in physics. Please stop! -
Did you get the right answers? I have not had the same experience. I’ve even went into DDS and got the wrong answer from the person at the counter, when I questioned it, they called someone else over who told them how to do it. I do not pay for licenses, regardless of what type in Georgia. Yet, I’ve had counter people at DDS attempt to charge me.

All the computer tests/endorsements are free in Indiana. The downside is you are in Indiana.
