Wow if i didn't know any better i'd say you were going through marine boot camp with your Gunny Sargent keeping you on your toes. Perhaps put your phone camera in a convenient location with it running this will be good for gathering any evidence or ask whether you can take another observer this behavior may very well have effected your performance and it'd be extremely distracting.

 

If I was a trainer I definetely wouldnt be Screaming at the new guy and flipping off people out the window.You get this "new driver", shook up...theyll just drive worse.They need to put her back in the office? Yikes..

I'll put it to you this way. I had no experience in anything even remotely blue collar when I went to the Schneider academy in 2003. I worked a desk job for five years before that, so...yeah. Long story short, I was TERRIBLE. My trainers hated me.

Day of the CDL test, there's a wall right next to the 45-degree angle back spot. Well. Guess who hit the wall. This guy right here.

Cut to 15 years later, and I work for what many consider to be the best trucking company in the industry. I've never had a ticket or an accident, knock on wood.

Just...take a minute, gather your wits, and know that it can work out better than you think.

The most important lesson here is that YOU drive YOUR truck. When things get stressful - and they will - pay attention to what you are doing, be dilligent and deliberate in all your actions.

It is not the mistake that matters, it is how you respond to the mistake that does.

 

What if Fatty Patti’s behavior was part of the test? Would you still consider her a bad instructor?
