It's a sorry world we live in. As a society, we need to do better about mental health issues.

Side note: Opened last week and the Auto/RV Entry sign already laid over.

Holy crap, was there last month! McDonald’s was still closed (they were looking for applicants). I guess they did a soft opening of the Pilot at the time.

I will try to avoid politics with my comment. When I was an active trucker, my company generally prohibited parking at any truck stop in and around Memphis, including the Fish Hook in Olive Branch, Mississippi. These prohibited places were marked in our permit books. In the nearly 13 years since then, I have no idea if this is still a policy. I have seen and heard about drivers being robbed at gunpoint at the Atlanta Petro and the TA before it was closed.

I highly recommend that anytime your trip involves passing through places like Memphis or Chicago, or even Dallas, you try to be at least 100 miles away before starting your 10-hour break. If you cannot, stay alert to your surroundings. I know this is not possible 100% of the time, so think of it this way: every time you can avoid these areas, the less chance you have of finding a round in the chamber.

These days, you gotta be on alert regardless of where you are, not just Memphis, nit just Atlanta. You've got drivers committing shootings going down the highway, at churches, grocery stores, etc. Big city little city, rural area, inner city, it dont matter. You can't let your guard down anywhere. It's a lot of screwed up situations and people out here, and things pop off so quickly. Some folks try to be bad ##### too, and I'm here to tell ya, you get no pay off being a bad ###.

More like one and a half. The building was still standing at the time but the parking lot was blocked off with concrete barriers(with exception to the CB Shop and the Deerfield Inn).

Flat Earth Trucker and JonJon78 Thank this.

Food at Red Banks wasn't too good last time I was though. Better at the stop at Hickory Flats, exit 48

Both those cities were 25 years ago. The only thing that is changed is, there's more of it and more brazen
