Jesus. I dont even know how to feel about this one. Its hard to say the cops were wrong seeing as they were chaseing a suicidal man who was traveling the wrong way in traffic after kidnapping a #### baby. And even if they called it off the fact he was suicidal means this this type of end was basically a forgone conclusion and all that would have happened is the where would have changed and both the idiot and baby would be dead plus some victim of a headon. They cant shoot at him because baby. They cant pit him because baby. They cant spike strip him because they didnt have time and with him going the wrong way thats a major wreck waiting to happen. Also baby
Just...yikes. This moron basically ensured there wasnt going to be a good end to this situation no matter what anyone did while taking most of the good options away from the police.

Sue the trucking company for what? The vehicle it got tangled up with was a cop in pursuit. Nobody had anything to do with all the dead bodies other than the piece of woman beating garbage that was running from the cops.
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
And yes it has happened in a few cases. -
There's surely more to the story - a reported kidnapping, but the deceased guy in the Kia dropped the woman off at the hospital, and left with the baby.
News story didn't get much further into detail as to how that all panned out. Why didn't he leave the woman and the baby? Who does the baby belong to?
If there's any lawsuit, my guess it would be the family of the deceased kids going to a concert, suing the Sherriff Dept or State for their pursuit tactics. The sheriff was on the wrong side of the interstate when the Volvo hit him.
All round a messed up situation.
