If the GM CEO worked for free and the salary was distributed among the 167000 employees... they would gross an additional 200 bucks or so that year. GM has some issues as do the big three as a whole... but CEO pay is hardly as big of an issue as people think. Do I think it is deserved? Probably not. I think CEO in general should be paid exclusively on a commission basis, with compensation tied directly to performance.

Gm & ford have the same issue..they build overpriced garbage…Toyota and Nissan and kia/hyundai vehicles tend to last longer and quality seems to be bit better than the domestic automakers vehicles…maybe they should start listening to what customers want vs telling customers what they’ll get…

I'm definitely going to Monday. I'm not mad at FCC at all, guess it must have come off that way. Never occurred to me that most folks wouldn't know how closely FCC is involved when it comes to warranty work, so I see where YardMule89 was coming from not knowing the situation. I'm just frustrated as hell with the whole situation and now I'm going back in a shop one way or another next week. But I have no doubt Shane will make it right. Hell, I could live with the grease all over the floor, not being ready on time, ect, kinda come to expect that at most shops. What really set me off was the oil change not being done and giving it back low on oil. Had I known I was gonna have to go back in the shop next week I would have waited on the trans and diff services and gotten them done cheaper too.

@bzinger maybe you can answer this since you brought your truck from a percentage contract over here to a mileage contract.

My settlement next week will be over $4584 after all deductions, that’s after having .20 mile taken out for a voluntary maintenance account $872.20, so theoretically my settlement would be $5456.23. Not to shabby on a mileage contract in this tough economy and down freight market, but if you listen to the “experts” you can’t make any money on a mileage contract.

Now I’m on the longhaul fleet, and I normally stay out two to three weeks. That is a weekly settlement by the way, not a bi weekly settlement.

FCC has the freight to keep you moving and productive. Their freight is driver friendly, and they don’t beat an owner operator over the head by nickel and dime you with ridiculous deductions.

None of the big 3 make vehicles like they used to unfortunately. For example, I highly doubt any new Chevy pickup will last nearly as long as my roommates 79 Chevy pickup. That’s what happens when companies put profits over a quality product and move production to Mexico or elsewhere to make them cheaper. If I ever buy a new vehicle, it will most likely be a Honda or Toyota. The Japanese still care about their customers and make quality vehicles
