Its alot better than the old one. Tons of paved parking and virtually no traffic out front so its real easy to get out.

@runningman0661 I read the first 10 pages then skipped to the last 10. Still have steady freight to Four Oaks? I’m Living in Raleigh again and like what I’m reading as far as long haul goes.

Laid over yesterday at the house (paid). Caught lunch and a movie with my wife. Saw "The Mule", Clint Eastwood's movie. Pretty good. That guy went from movie star, to actor, writer and director, and a good one.
Will try again with a load from Mars/Iams in Henderson NC to Braselton GA and then see from there. Might be time to schedule my colonoscopy. Been putting it off. Time to find out how good or not the health insurance is. Good luck, Roadcall, yeah I get a load home load to Four Oaks at least every other trip home and once in awhile outta the house. Also load out of Sue Bee Honey in Elizabethtown, Hexacomb in Farmville (cardboard stacks) in the two months or so I have been here. I work the Southeast region for FCC. I like getting home every other weekend as does my wife.

    RoadCall Thanks this.

Plenty of freight going to Four Oaks, usually a load to Four Oaks or Sumter is my load that gets me home.

Getting unloaded in Aurora, Colorado, from here I will go down to Monument, Colorado and wait for a driver to bring me a load coming out of Nebraska going to Albuquerque. Dispatch called yesterday and asked if I would do this swap for this driver trying to get home for home time, absolutely, I know it will come back in the end, and if I was trying to get home I would hope somebody would do me a solid.

Hope they get the snow cleared out. Just read that this latest winter storm shut down the city government of Albuquerque. They said it was the 1st time in over a decade they closed due to snow.

Just checked road conditions in Albuquerque and I should be fine. After I drop this tomorrow I will reload about an hour away going to Iowa. Originally they were going to have me drop this In KCMO and grab a load for Georgia, but I’m overdue for a service and my APU quit working lastweek, so I’m going to swing through our Fremont terminal and deliver this load in Iowa after I get out of the shop.

After I drop this dog food in Braselton, headed over to Sumter SC and bring a load to our Fairburn GA dropyard for late today or early tomorrow. Then, pickup a honey load in Elizabethtown NC Monday back to Conyers GA. Hopefully, dispatch will find me something else to keep me busy Saturday and Sunday. Maybe a Four Oaks load from one of the GA dropyards?

When the inevitable happens with my MIL and the cancer takes her, I had considered coming off the road and doing local work or a regional gig like what FCC has, just to be home for the wife after her loss...but honestly, short hops like this would drive me up the wall within 6 months. I know it's different strokes for different folks, that's what I like about trucking. Glad you're posting here, it has helped me rethink my plans. Hope things continue to be to your likeing over there.

Agreed, different strokes for different folks. I’ve run regional and local, but prefer longhaul.
