A clip from my truck may end up at the next safety meeting as an example of how not to turn left at an intersection. Pulled up to a red stoplight on north 9th after getting fuel at Pilot here in Salina. Light turned green and I proceeded into the intersection. Pickup going south decided he wasn’t going to wait 10 seconds for me to clear up and turned left right in front of me. I was more concerned with what would’ve happened had a vehicle been coming up on the outside lane doing 40 than me actually hitting the guy. If you’re turning left at that intersection and there’s a semi in the left lane, you can’t see what’s in that right lane.

Ironic thing is that it was a pickup owned by a Freightliner dealership.

There’s obviously a serious lack of common sense going around these days.

I did 728 in a 68 truck here at Fremont going from i80 up to the Petro on the way to Minneapolis. That day there was very little traffic.

I tapped 717 the day after I was complaining about Atlanta but that’s a very rare day for this Driver.

    Todays Load: 1 pallet @ 220#

That has to be my lightest and smallest load ever. The pallet weights almost as much as the product. Medical Glass Vials.

It’s not tall enough to strap in… LOL

BigR, rokue, runningman0661 and 2 others Thank this.

I think I have gained fuel mileage maybe from the new tires around 0.5mpg?

I think what you gained was an accidental tail wind or possibly the junk penske slapped on your truck had even worse rolling resistance than the Chinese willpops or maypops you just bought , but at 309.00 a tire they maybe ok if you take care of them and don't run them hard ...id expect a couple hundred k out of them at best and for the miles I run I may even give them a try .
Don't worry about what Chris says because he's never bought a commercial tire in his life .

They only difference between tk and carrier apu,s is the care given to them and most fleets take piss poor care of them .
    Same goes for reefers .
I have 23000 hours on my carrier apu that has been extremely well cared for and given me very few problems other than routine maintenance and expected component replacement.
