    We have an entire fleet of new Peterbilts here, and every small crack becomes a spiderweb instantly but the replacements don’t do much better. I’m told like most new cars they are part of the “structure” of the truck, maybe yours got tweaked….

    Well my day went sideways.

    Started by being removed from my Rome GA to Topeka KS run.

    Then, for the first time ever, for me anyway, Ellabell was very very backed up when I arrived at 0900 for a 0915 LUL. Had like 4-5 trucks all parked inside the fence all waiting their turn. Took over an hour before I bumped the dock.

    And unfortunately that, and general SC traffic on 95/26, extra hour pushed me to be an hour late for my ALT reload and they said “so sorry not sorry come back in the morning”.

    So I shut down at the local QT hoping to share a Pizza with the better half but they were out of crusts. {shrug}

    First time ever here having two PUs both going into Joliet. So after trying again to get loaded in the morning, I’ll run over towards Charlotte to grab the other half and finally add up a few miles.

    ya, it’s trucking.
    ya, it happens.

    but thankfully it’s the exception and not the rule here at FCC.

    I know if I go back OTR I would deal with stuff like that but imagine if you’re regional like I am right now.

    Monday I was off
    Tuesday I only drove 6 hours
    Today I drove about 45 minutes, was stuck at Pepsi for 2.5 hours, and my truck has been in the shop since noon

    I only have 2 or 3 more days to drive before I go home, whereas if I was OTR I can swallow that downtime much easier just by staying out a little longer

    But like you said, that’s trucking

    Regionals can’t stay out over the weekend? If you want to keep running to make up for the downtime, just ask. I’m sure they could find something to keep you running over the weekend to make up for the lost time. Worth asking if you want to of course.

    Problem is that I asked for New Year’s off to prep my truck for going OTR next week and other stuff, so my hands are kind of tied there

    I got the #######. Littered my truck with glue boards and traditional mouse traps baited with peanut butter last night. I went to bed and not long after I thought I heard a snap, but didn’t check until this morning IMG_2963.jpeg

    Ok, so it’s not the difference between Regional and Long Haul but personal plans. Ya, that does toss a wrench into your options.
