Hate to be “that guy”, but my hometime is my hometime. If a load needs repowered and i’m the closest person to there, unless the other driver is willing to meet me where i park my truck, they can find another driver. Just my two cents

One time i was at home at another driver called me and wondered where i was since he was at the airport to switch trailers and i wasn’t there. Dispatch never notified me or anything. They were #### lucky i was at home just messing around

Well, to be fair that might probably be me too.

But I’d also be the one sleeping with the windows open while everyone else has the heat on full blast. ;)

it wasn’t the company, it was the actual driver who swapped with me. Some Iowa number and i only called back because he left a message

Got used to much improved A/C on my new Carrier Aspen APU and forgot how these older ones just plain suck. It’s barely above 80 but i have to idle the truck because the APU struggles mightily to keep temperature, and that’s with the sleeper curtains closed. I am in the middle of the Mojave but even then it’s only 82 outside. My trucks been sitting in direct sunlight for awhile and it only says 91 on the dash

The guy did come to my park location. I wound up hanging out for an hour or so waiting for the guy but the good thing was while I was waiting I got most of my housekeeping done that I normally do the night before I take off (put all my groceries up, put my clean clothes away, etc). So the truck is basically ready for me me to hop in it, do a walk around, and take off Saturday morning.
I knocked out several chores I was dreading during this hometime. Did a little light home handyman work, got the summer clothes out and put most of the winter stuff up (Still have enough kit for a couple days of cold and snow), and got the ex through her surgery and hopefully the completion of her bachelor's degree. The only bad thing is I really haven't stopped running since I got off the truck. Love the wifey, love the kids, but I'm kinda ready to be back on the road. I'm hoping that tomorrow can pretty much entirely be a chill out day since I have been productive and worked ahead a bit.

I guess I was switched to MW regional and someone failed to inform me. My last three loads 270 miles, 298 miles, and 217 miles. Maybe a bunch of MW regional drivers took vacation this week. The part that is frustrating is having to sit on these short loads and deliver the next day. Picked up yesterday, can’t deliver until 0800 today, next load is on the KCMO yard going to a Menards store in Omaha can’t deliver until 0800 tomorrow. WTF?

Okay I’m done whining, thanks for listening.

I can understand taking a short one to get you back in a freight lane. But that many in a row is ridiculous.
