Why? Because I expressed my concerns about how he knows so much about the inner workings of this company when he's just a driver, and he then disclosed a higher up position within the company on the advisory board, of which he has never disclosed publicly on this forum before - I'm a troll for calling that out? Really?
A #### good driver got fired in part because of stuff that was said on this thread. I don't want to see other drivers lose their livelihoods because they confide in somebody who they think is just a driver, not knowing he's actually a higher up in the company who regularly advises management. Most people will watch what they say around management, and rightfully so.
So yeah, I'm very glad I spoke up today and expressed my concerns. Now every member on this forum knows about his higher up position on the board and can conduct themselves accordingly around him and watch what they say.
I don't want to see any driver lose their job.

Settle down. Just do a search for “driver advisory board” in the favorite company forum and you can also see all the posts where he has spoken about what went on during the quarterly meetings since he’s been involved.

I will say I’m assuming something in the financials is pinching right now. The truck replacement cycle being pushed back, no new trailers*, the pay freeze for non driving staff, the revision to the annual raises that is meant to be the next best thing to a driver pay freeze all have come in the last year and rates and the market have been bad for several years. I am wondering why now and not a year or two ago for all the cost cutting.
The best case scenario I can imagine is they were hoping the market would have turned around by now and finally decided they can’t wait anymore.
*Since the new trailers are spring ride I’m not broken up about no new ones but the % of trailers over 10 years old, which is a dealbreaker to some customers, is going up.Knucklehead and Rugerfan Thank this. -

I can show you how to make a working toilet in your sleeper with a Pringles can, a hole saw and a hose clamp for under $5. A nice man at the Flying J gives lessons..... Every day is a school day.

I don't even contribute to this thread, I just keep up with it, and even I knew he was on the advisory board. He frequently asks these guys if they have anything they want brought up at the next board meeting or he'll answer questions or clarify something out of the blue. I'm pretty sure everybody here and the ones that just follow are aware of his situation/position.
