It’s an interesting nomadic solitary lifestyle.

One of the biggest perks for me being OTR is that i can take several days off in a row. That and i get more miles. The benefits kinda stop there though. For me at least

biggest reason why i got into trucking is because i love driving. Before i moved to Michigan, my roommate and I would fill up my car with gas and just drive with no particular destination. I would do it just by myself too

Delivered in Baltimore. Swinging up to Carlisle, PA for a preloaded trailer going to Home Depot in Joliet

Not sure if trucks are allowed thru the BHT on 895 so i’m taking the slightly longer route and sticking to 695 west of Baltimore to get to 83

Last time I was there, they would allow a 96, but not a 102. That tells you how long ago it was.

Sitting in Four Oaks. They have been closed for the last 3 days so they are very backed up. Took half an hour to get in the gate they told me to pull my trailer from a door. Get mine dropped and go to the door and it’s empty. Check the tracking and it shows it at the junction of I-40 and I-42, so I have a suspicion about how this story ends. I cruised the lot then went back to the gatehouse and they said it had been moved to a spot. I thought I checked the lot but I’ve been wrong before. Go to that spot, no trailer. Checked tracking again, it shows the trailer going through Cary, NC on I-40. They finally decided they must have accidentally let it leave.
They have no ETA for the next empty so for the moment I am chilling. The mothership doesn’t have any alternatives right now.

Kind of an odd thing happened today. Minor but strange.

Fueled up at the Yard today and the fuel pumps shut off very close to the assigned fuel solution I had been given for the pilot in CB.

Wouldn’t allow me to manually add any more. Acted just like it does when we hit the 175 gallon daily limit.

Anyone else hit that the last day or two?

    stay safe

    cdavis188 and Knucklehead Thank this.

    nope

put 150 gallons on in Morris, IL and it never griped at me

I’m not sure why it would do that. If i’m going out west along 80, i usually top off in CB or at Bosselmans regardless of if it says so or not

i’ve had pumps shut off randomly a couple times early with no rhyme or reason since i’ve been here but it never repeated itself so

    Knucklehead Thanks this.

I don’t know about everyone else but our freight sure hasn’t slowed down any. Since I came out of the house three weeks ago they are running my **** in the dirt.

I’m currently on a load from Tennessee to Joliet, and then they have three additional loads on me planned out until Thursday of next week. I’ll take it, I’m supposed to be home next Friday, that final load will be my get home load.
