no rigid boosters (East coast) must be a MDU - a walking beam if you will. The booster pins to the trailer axles and they all pivot on a single
Pivot joint (west coast evener beam).

they work great but are much heavier and significantly more expensive. Also, when the booster is off they move the center of

Yeah I know how a west coast walking beam works. They are far superior than trying to shim a rigid bar and easier on the trailer. But I was under the impression that a rigid was acceptable. Especially since Cozad makes a rigid booster.

    Learn something new everyday.

Ozad makes that for non-California market - they also make a 13 axle set up mostly for non California customers. Can’t get tridem bonus weight groups in a row - so it hurts gross for west coast 13 axles. The 16 tire guys kill a traditional 13 in Cali

Dispatch came through. Delivered to Edwardsville at 0500 this morning and they had me meet another driver at the nearby Flying J to swap trailers. I’m taking his load to Home Depot in Topeka and he took my empty trailer to some paper mill in Lincoln, IL that I was originally supposed to go to.

Should get home with time to spare on my 70

It’s kind of hit n miss for me. I’ll typically take the back road from the west which comes out straight at the docks and avoid driving through the mud maze… but then sometimes I get there for a Live Load and it’s preloaded and setting in the trailer park so I end up driving through it to DnH.

I just had a flashback to my first trip there and followed my gps and ended up on the north side of the customer in a very tight residential area. Oops. But made it out without damaging 57 cars parked on the street.

Ain’t that the truth? I rushed in to swap there a week or two ago and almost bounced out of my seat. Obviously it got my attention and I quickly slowed down to ease my way through the mud hole gauntlet. I like that location but it will be nice to see them grate the yard come spring.

Delivered this morning in Riverside. It was good to see mi amigo that unloads us.

Preplanned on a load from the Kawasaki warehouse in Ontario going back to Lincoln for Thursday or Friday. Loading appointment is at noon, so time to rest some.

I’m due home next Thursday as the Mrs is having her second back surgery next Friday. The first one was 15 years ago when she was 20.

Well, Savannah is as much fun as always. I’ll leave the details out but nothing much has changed. I’m not really even sure what’s actually causing it but it’s certainly not the beautiful in n out it once was. I used to love and look forward to a SAV Load… But it is what it is.

Ended up rushing to grab a broker load which turned out to be 3 pallets and 795# of pillows heading to Blair NE. That’s a first but it should help my milage heading west.

Been a bit out of sync lately and now running recap. I must not understand aspects of the 2/8 split. I thought, in my mind anyway, I could possibly take a 2 hour break before midnight and then have my 3 hours come around and I would have been able to keep running late into the night then force a required 34 today and reset. But when I got up after midnight to keep running I only had 2 hours available. I think I understand why that happened so I just moved down to a real parking spot and shut down. but then before my 8 was up I had all 4.5 hours available which is what I thought I’d have after the two. I thought maybe I tripped a 3/7 split but I was shut down for 2.5 hours not 3 so that really didn’t add up.

so I’ll have a light duty day of 4.5 hours today and finish the run to park in Blair NE tomorrow night for Thursday morning delivery.

    me n my 800# of pillows . . . :)

    stay safe

I think they cut down on staff or something there and that is why it's now slow. That or the fast guy quit or was fired.
