I could never justify $1,200 on a phone as I only mainly use it for calls, messages, X, TRANSFLO… base comms. But I keep the phone until it dies. I get like 4-5 years out of them and currently only have the SE2 model.
Now I will spend a bit more on my iPads… but again, I get years of use from them so per year it’s not too terrible.
I’m hopelessly content in my little walled garden. But also glad there is Android out there to help keep the market competitive.

I had a Sonim 8 (android) for 5 years. They don't make em anymore, or else I'd get another one. I was bamboozled into an iphone16 by my wife (was supposed to get it for free, but they wouldn't take my phone in trade). Mad that I'm paying 1200 for this phone. I miss my android.
Friend and MidWest_MacDaddy Thank this. -
Have any of you tried the T Mobile box for home internet and WiFi? I’m getting shafted again from Spectrum and looking to make a change.

Yes you read that right. $140/month for INTERNET ONLY.
My fiber is 1 gig internet for less than half the price Cox was charging me. I have a feeling they’re gonna lose a lot of business in Salina. They were the only option in town for fast internet for a very long time so they could get away with charging absurd rates.
The Clearwave fiber rep was basically frothing at the mouth when i uttered the words ‘Cox internet’Last edited: Mar 27, 2025

Well after much deliberation and going back and forth between whether i wanted to do it or not, I’ve finally bit the bullet and will be entering into the lease purchase program here at the company. There’s been several people both on and off the forum who have had success with it, and i feel like this is the best way to get into truck ownership.
I figured that this was the best time personally, since I’m only 25, zero kids or wife, and low expenses. Also in terms of our industry at least, there is a more favorable administration in office. I’m also on and plan to stay on SWR, which means i will rarely if ever go to states with high diesel prices.
I’ve weighed the pros and cons and have spent considerable time researching and looking into the nooks and crannies, so i have a solid idea of what i’m getting myself into. As you may all know, i’ve driven the vast majority of the past couple months at 65 vs 68. That was partly so i could see what difference it made to fuel economy. When i get my lease truck I may even bump it down even more to 62 or 63 to see what that does. Running your own truck is not a race. Fuel is your number one cost so if i can reduce that as much as i can, that means more money for other stuff. Yes, having a 70 mph truck would be nice and i’ll probably use that extra speed on occasion, but the vast majority of my driving will be becoming a Prime truck basically. I’m still unsure about a couple things like what to do about health insurance and tax deductions, but you can’t learn if you don’t try.
Sadly i won’t be able to use the truck i’m in now because it only has 70k on it, and Mike doesn’t have anything on the lot that is suitable, so he will have to pull a truck from someone. So if any of you have a truck around 250k and it gets pulled, I’m sorry.hotrod1653, Knucklehead, MidWest_MacDaddy and 3 others Thank this. -
$70k and I’d let you have mine.
