So leave, you don't need to wait for it to finish. It will restart once you're underway.

Im always checking red trucks for a mid-twenties driver. I’ll be hollering “Davis?” at you one of these days.

Nice to meet you @Pigdude , and good chatting @runningman0661

Shop got my windshield replaced and Dispatch got me my next load. 2 stop fence load, sitting on the yard in Lincoln. First stop Oceanside CA and second in Riverside. Both set for Monday.

I’ve got a Mars load to take through the house and deliver in Clayton Sunday afternoon. My truck seems to have caught the Detroit oil pan disease, so I bt’d to Omaha for repairs and a night in the motel. Not a terrible way to kill a Thursday night!

Safe travels! It was nice to meet you!

So I feel the need to post a follow up to comments I recently posted here about the Shoemaker’s Truck Stop in Lincoln.

I had some unplanned downtime last Friday and Saturday so gave a shout out to my friends in Lincoln to see if they wanted to take in and feed a Homeless Trucker for the evening and part of Saturday.

Long story short(er), I ended up stopping at Shoemaker’s to grab a well needed shower before BTing closer to their house.

    - PSA Update Begins:

It had a totally different feel to the place. Oh sure, it’s still obviously a paid parking lot for Local Drivers but someone must have sent out a memo to clean the place up.

Everything seemed different than I remember it. Sure, cars parked reserving a spot for Locals but it’s been cleaned up and everyone seemed parked a bit straighter.

I have never grabbed a shower there so can’t say if it’s changed but I found the showers fairly good size and clean. Minor comments about the shower itself but that’s more design based and not cleanliness. And a shower there is only $12… Loves is now up to $18 for a paid shower.

Overall, decent experience both parking and shower… I’ve had a good steak there in the past as well.

While we have other options for parking in the Greater Lincoln Area, I won’t be avoiding the place as much to grab a meal or shower.

I guess the new Maverick going in across the street made them reflect on their own Yard.

Ended up attending a Hawaiian Themed Wedding that night for the daughter of someone I met recently too. (Friend of a Friend thing) so it was a good unplanned downtime all the way around.

    stay safe

pretty short week for me. Didn't even come out until Wednesday. Told dispatch I would be fine working as long as I got home by tomorrow night but apparently there must not be a lot of freight around. Dropped in Topeka this morning and did a favor for dispatch by swinging down to Wichita to grab some empty trailer. It was sitting in a random lot behind an Aldi's store and I have no idea why it was there or how long it had been sitting

I'd go out on Sunday morning but that's my birthday and naturally I already have a bunch of plans for that day
