Here is a sneak peak of one type of trailers my new company uses. They have flats, single drop, double drop and 45' dry vans.

 

Glass is all they haul.

 

Feels weird to rock-n-roll with a flatbed. They had a very serious accident in the plant a few weeks before I got there. A crate pack fell over on a loader in a van and pushed his hard hat down past his ears almost scalping him. Plus it broke a lot of bones and internal injury...poor guy is facing a lot of pain and rehab. But they stressed SAFETY above all else.

 

There's no Room for error with them glass Loads..

 

That's why it pays so good.

After my 1st load, I'm tired, sore and dirty, but that's specialty flatbeding...it has made trucking interesting to me again.

 

Just remember...never get in a big hurry..do at your pace...yes..flatbedding for the first time can certainly feel like being in the weight room...lol

 

It certainly is reminding me of muscles I forgot I had. But this is also part of the reason I am going this direction with my career...I need more physical activity, but not as much as regular flatbed freight demands more often.

 

That's one of the reasons why I went back to flatbed....
