Check where the latch pin latches against the frame. Sometimes it gets bent up, even on new units. Mine use to pop open a lot on my old freightliner, but another forum member posted the fix, and it worked.

Congrat @gntorres61 i love getting assigned new trucks. In my 16 years of driving I’ve been assigned 3. If nothing else just because you know where it’s been. There’s something to be said about knowing the booger you just touched, is yours.

I have another perfect example of just how much of an honest stand up company FCC truly is. I wasn't planning on getting My safety bonus this quarter because I started my lease as an owner op Over one month into the quarter. I signed my lease on May the 4th and the quarter ended the end of June. If I'm not mistaken I think you have to have a minimum of 30000 miles in the quarter to even qualify for the mileage on the bonus. I actually came close in less than 2 months! Over 28500 miles From May 4th to the end of June. Well, to my surprise I got an email of a check stub for a bonus check today! They went ahead and paid me for an even 41000 miles for the quarter! Since I was a company driver for the 1st little over one month of the quarter they went ahead and average out the difference and paid me a full bonus check as an owner op. Even though they didn't have to and I wasn't expecting it FCC did right by me. I don't know of any other company that would do something like this Just because it's the right thing to do. Granted, bonus checks aren't as big for owner Ops as they are for company drivers, Still it's a nice little check at the end of a long 3 months of work. Especially when you wernt even expecting to get one! I really thought I had forfeited that check by switching over partway through the quarter, thank you for being honest FCC!

Well, the “vacation” is over.
And by vacation I mean sorting through, dividing up, packing up my moms place and getting her moved to Champaign IL to a nice little Assisted Living place very close to my sister.
Now I should be getting back into my old normal driving plan of one weekend in SC with the wife and one weekend in IL with mom and now sister too.
Did I mention just how much I hate to pack and move? Well, if I didn’t… I HATE IT… lol
A bit of a rough start today getting an empty and now waiting for 7 other drivers ahead of me to get loaded (so I’ll be sitting here for a few hours) but I will have a good run back to NE here soon and will get back into the swing of OTR Life. -

Thanks Wayne! It DOES feel like things are smoothing out, or at least hope for it. I never thought I'd say I love a freightliner, but I do love this truck. It still shakes taking bumps, but I knew that going in. Still, this truck is much easier to drive than the KW I gave up. It has raised my enjoyment of driving exponentially!

Dropped my load of antibacterial soap from Zebulon NC (right next to Carolina Mudcats ballpark) to Dollar Tree DC in Joliet IL, then scooted over to Frankfort for plastic cups and plates headed to Walmart in North Platte NE. Dispatch is having me T Call to Fremont yard where I will pickup my home load to Four Oaks NC. Been an eventful three weeks. Hopefully home Sunday an back out Friday. Deuces.
