I'm scheduled to be back in town sometime next Thursday and then I'll be home through the weekend.

Snowed from East of Winslow to Selligman, the West side of Flagstaff was pretty interesting, but everyone behaved. Made it to the TA in Kingman.

I had to get my 90 day inspection at FCC on Wednesday, they found a steer axle wheel seal that was just starting to show signs of leaking. They past me on the dot inspection with my assurance that I would get the wheel seal addressed in the next few days. After stopping at four different repair shops, I finally found a mechanic competent enough to do the work. He initially balked “driver it’s not leaking that bad, it’s not on your break pads yet.” I said “I’m well aware of that, I’m trying to avoid having it completely fail, and then having to replace them.” So the truck is currently in the shop getting the seal replaced.

I will roll out of here in the morning with a goal of getting back here tomorrow for my 10.

I-40 through NM and AZ are the pits. I'm genuinely surprised I made it both ways without something breaking on my old truck. Hit a pothole right after a bridge so hard I swore I broke something. Pretty sure the guy in front of me did as he immediately pulled over with something leaking under his truck. That stretch of highway is easily the worst slab of asphalt I have driven on. Makes I-70 in Indiana seem great in comparison.

Agreed, it’s a shame that our infrastructure is like we live in a third world country.

Investors and mega carriers are gung-ho for autonomous trucks yet our infrastructure alone will make that a lost cause. In any case, some of these states needs to pull their heads out of their ##### and fix their roads. We are expected to keep our rigs in good shape, state road departments should be held to the same standards.

All of the mega carriers combined don't make up much more than 1/4 of the industry. I-70 in Indiana is NOTHING compared to how bad it used to be. Once upon a time, the stretch from Indy to Ohio would rearrange your entire sleeper. EVERY SINGLE BRIDGE felt like hitting a curb squarely at 60mph.

Driving a Freightshaker doesn't help on some of these roads. I drive for 10 hours and find out a tornado went through my sleeper. Not to mention the broom I bought somewhere in California went AWOL not to be seen again.

Any ideas where they'll send me after I drop my pet food in Bethel? I'm working on recaps and I would've burned 5 hours by the time I make my drop, so they won't be able to send me too far out of the way.

Bethel Pa.? We used to pick up at overhead door, usually a preloaded trailer. Other than I have no clue.
