Yup, a Cascadia. Thanks, I'll talk to him about that

For any of you doing the LP here at FCC I hope you’ve taken the extended factory warranty they offer. It paid for itself when I was doing the Lease and a friend of mine has less than 600K miles on his truck, his one box just went out, the bill will be just over $12k for parts and labor. If he didn’t opt into that extended factory warranty it would all be on his dime.

I am surpised they actually warranty a part that has a KNOWN issue. Those things pretty much all come apart at the welds around 600k. I had one on a pipeline truck make it to 720k, but the guys at Freightliner said they almost NEVER see one make it that far.

As they should. Seems like there has been a lot of accidents there recently.

    Bumper Thanks this.

The extended warranty offered isn’t a third party warranty, but a true manufacturer extended warranty that will cover everything up to an engine failure up to I believe 750K miles. At first I was skeptical when offered to me, but it more than paid for itself as many times as I had to use it.

    Bumper Thanks this.

Dispatch said this load isn't able to deliver until 1600 tomorrow and there's no way they can split it off, and that I can swing by the house if I want. So I just pulled into town and will spend the night at home. Planning on pulling back out around noon tomorrow to go up to Grand Island.

You were right, one of my steering stop bolts was broken, I'm sure that made the issue much worse. Got that fixed, so hopefully I'll get well over 200k outta this set now

    runningman0661 Thanks this.

Oh yeah!, I wouldn't have done my lease without it. I just went over 400k, it doesn't go into effect until 500k when the factory warranty would expire. But I can already tell it's gonna pay for itself. I've already replaced a water pump, front cover, 4- rear wheel seals, and 3 injector seals in the first year. That's the stuff the warranty paid for just off the top of my head. I'm sure it'll be much more as it gets more age and miles

Bumper, runningman0661 and dwells40 Thank this.

I'm assuming that based on this, company trucks are usually traded in around 500k or so?

That’s the goal, but with supply chain issues blah, blah, blah truck manufacturers are behind the 8 ball. I think they have 100 trucks scheduled to come in this year.
