Already got my next load after this one. I will drop this load in Topeka on Sunday afternoon and head back to the KCMO yard to pick up a trailer Monday going back to Victorville. After a shag driver brings my load to the yard, I'll hook up to it and swing by the house for a 34, leaving for California on Wednesday morning.
I've noticed that after switching dispatchers, my miles have improved and I'm preplanned more consistently than usual.

Check engine light came back on yesterday for that stupid rear axle temperature sensor. Oh well. They don't call them dummy lights for nothing. I'll mention it to the shop next time the truck goes in for service but it's not a 'have to put it in the shop now' problem.
Met another driver in the CB lounge the other day whose Cascadia had to go to Freightliner because of some major oil leak and it only has 30k miles on it. Wonder if his truck was built on a Monday. -

What That?

Has anyone ever loaded at Husqvarna in Orangeburg, Sc? The reviews aren’t very encouraging, and in the customer notes it says “make take hours just to get a door”.

What are y'alls end of month mileage? My trip odometer says I ran a little under 12,000 miles for April.
My first full two months here at FCC:
March: 10,551 paid miles (8 days off)
April: 11,047 paid miles (5.5 days off)
I'm hitting the ground running with a 1500+ run to California for May. June will hurt a bit for mileage since I'll have to take 8 to 9 days off for my vacation to northern MI.
As long as I average over 10k miles a month, I'm happy. I'm not one of those people who goes balls to the wall every single day. I try to find a balance of working hard, but without burning myself out. I also tend to take a couple of days more hometime a month than the average driver. Again because I try to strike a work/home balance that works for me.
Overall, I'm very happy with my choice to come here. -

Dont try to make it all the $$'s this year. Its bad on your long term health. Happy travels.
