I'm the same, I prefer to start midnight-2am, absolutely hate days when I start at 6-7

FYI, the walmart in Lexington Nebraska has reopened the south parking area again to trucks.. construction is over…for those who stop there.

I am incapable of waking up and starting that early. I usually leave around 4-5 am and plan to be parked by 5 pm.

Made better time than I thought over the passes. Made it to just outside of Grand Junction, CO. Should be able to make Barstow tomorrow. If not then not far from it. Then dropping in Victorville first thing Friday morning.

Are there any companies out there that do not have CVE’s (critical vehicle event)?
it seems as though every little thing you do is sending a report to the armchair, trucker safety people.

I never had any critical events with Magnum. Then again, FCC uses Lytx cameras, while Magnum just uses plain dash cams. I'm pretty sure Magnum has some form of critical events, but because they just use a standard dash cam, you can get away with a lot of stuff there that you absolutely wouldn't at FCC, and they take driving school graduates. That being said, their CSA scores are excellent. Rarely got pulled into scale houses and was never inspected. Actually I take that back, they were pulling everyone in for a paperwork check (Level III) at some rest area in South Dakota one time.

Magnum is a great company and has a lot of qualities that FCC has. I'd still be driving for them if I hadn't moved back to Kansas. One of the best reefer outfits in my opinion.

Another week almost in the books, left the house at 3am mon for a 7:30 app in Garland, TX. Then bounced to Hutchins,TX to pick up a preloaded trlr to drop in Valley, NE. Then grabbed an empty off the Fremont yard and headed to Crete, NE to drop and hook with a load going to Sealy,TX. I needed to be home for a funeral Wednesday and the Sealy load didn't have to drop till Thurs so that worked out perfect. Got home around 5am Wed, ran some errands and got a few chores done before putting on my Sunday best ( happens only when someone dies or gets married) and heading to a funeral. Left home at 1am this morning to go down to Sealy and drop. Then bounced to Houston, sitting here now waiting to be live loaded with pallets to take to the Council Bluffs yard, I'll drop this there early Sat am then reload somewhere up there and head back home ( hopefully before noon Sat) for a restart and roll again early Monday. Gonna end up being a pretty decent week even with being off 20 hours in the middle of the week for that funeral. Be safe out there y'all.
