With no snow in the forecast for the Rockies, and a fuel solution in Commerce City, and Grand Junction, gonna dance with I 70 to I 15. Only 31000 lbs so I lucked out there. Spent the night in Salina KS at the J thinking their showers were bigger, but no. Used to come in here When I was with Trans Am 8-9 years ago. Starting at 3am If the split sleeper is kind, gonna use it. Naps are becoming part of the routine, got a Tues del on this load so if I run hard, I get a reset, if no, then I'll save my 70.

I'm delivering this load to Kearney monday morning. Since I'm supposed to be home Wednesday, I wouldn't be shocked if they just tell me to head home after delivering. I'm still getting the miles I'm expecting to get though.

That Flying J is one of my favorites. Although the showers are the size of a broom closet, they have good pressure and hot water. The place also never fills up. Rolled in there one time about 11:30 pm on a weekday and a lot of spots in the back was empty and the reserved parking was deserted. Much better than the Pilot at the 9th street exit. The Petro on the other side of the highway is good also with great showers, but doesn't have the parking the other two have.

Watch out for a red midroof Cascadia going eastbound. Planning on stopping somewhere around Grand Junction, CO this evening.

CD, I totally 100 percent agree with you about the J in Salina. I parked there even though my fuel solution was at the Pilot too. I pulled in at the rest area in Edwards CO just west of Vail. Just too many miles to make Grand Junction today. Less than two hours left When I stopped. Maybe could have made the rest areas closer but had passed one that was closed. I stopped at this one on my last trip from Cali. Just hope it doesn't snow tonite.

Is Buckle here in Kearney a drop? I just pulled into their lot and I saw a couple of our trailers in doors as well as an empty sitting on the lot.

My biggest gripe with the company so far is that I have no way of really knowing if a place is a live load/unload or drop unless I've been to that location before.

Maybe this is something you can mention at your next board meeting. @runningman0661

Regardless, this isn't a 24/7 DC so I'll have to wait until morning.

Also a turtle dove has decided to make one of our trailers as its roost. 20230507_185124.jpg

Just curious. What's the ratio of owner/lease operaters to company drivers here?

It varies, but I think currently we have about 40ish O/Os and L/P drivers and approximately 325ish company trucks.
