The delivery at the Food lion DC went better than expected. It was prepaid, so no messing with a lumper. In and out within an hour. Went up to Selinsgrove, Pa and live loaded some pallets of stone going to menards in Eau Claire. I will drop that today, and pick up at the same DC going back to Valley, Nebraska for a drop Sunday.

Currently eating breakfast at the Pine Cone truck stop in Madison. Been years since I’ve stopped in here, the baked goods are still enticing.

Wait...FCC has loads like that? I thought they only did Nebraska-out-back to Nebraska loads. Interesting. May have to give FCC another look. Hopefully they route you through Moab down to ABQ. If so...enjoy the ride. When I was with KTS (the old Pirate Skunk outfit for those who know) I always got a Dannon load from SLC to Ft Worth for my hometime run. Hands down my favorite run.

I know 580 WIBW in Topeka still airs Coast to Coast at nights. You'll hear some wild #### on that show. But at least it's a form of entertainment.

I've stopped at the Pine Cone a few times and I've regretted not eating at the restaurant.

So apparently, Swift is banned from 7 feathers truck stop here because they keep blocking the fuel island.

At night, a lot of AM stations with the correct license turn up their transmitters to a stupidthousand number of wattage. If I remember, those are referred to as "clear channel" stations.

I loved listening to The Trucking Bozo on 700 WLW out of Cincinnati when I had to pull an all nighter in the Midwest.

That station had a lot of good shows back in the day. I used to listen to Mike McConnell before I got XM in 2004.

A lot of clear channels broadcast at 50,000 watts around the clock. They just have a much greater range at night due to the radio waves bouncing off the ionosphere. As such most other stations on those frequencies have to sign off the air at sunset.

AM flamethrowers on the west coast regularly reach the Hawaiian islands, and there's been reports of 1560 out of Buffalo being heard clearly in Sweden during winter. When I was living in northern Michigan I'd regularly get stations from New York, Atlanta, and DFW.

He’s still on there. 700 was on XM for awhile.
