    Dallas doesn't count..it's always in the furnace. At least up in central Kansas we're getting some nice 70's-low 80's weather... For a few days at least.

    I've always liked salina and used to spend time there in my H@M days hauling out of Excide battery .

    It's a decent town. I'm partial to it since I was born and raised there. The biggest issue is probably lack of stores and things to do. You have to trek to Wichita or Topeka for some of that stuff.

    Is the little hamburger joint still open downtown? I’m originally from Junction City and we’d stop in there and get a sack full of burgers on our way to Salina Speedway.

    We also have a stagnant population. 42k in 1980 and 46k in 2020.

    Good news is major traffic jams are unheard-of, you can get pretty much anywhere in town in 10 minutes, pretty quiet and laid back living, and it's Kansas so cost of living is pretty low.
