The only place that ran smoother during the pandemic. LOL

We used to roll in and out just checking in with the security guards… easy in and out… now they went back to their pre pandemic procedures and they have trucks parked all over as drivers stop, park, go inside to wait in line to check in then repeat on the way out.

    ya, much better… LOL

    BigR and bzinger Thank this.

Ya, and stretching the loads a bit as to not have us sitting too long.

This will be behind us soon and then we can make hay running as hard as you wish to run.

Maybe that's why they routed me to the KC area instead of back to Nebraska. With 2 major customers doing maintenance, there's probably slim pickings up there.

Dropped in Woodbridge (Bolingbrook), Illinois, actually picked up a preloaded trailer at the same customer going to Omaha. Currently sitting in front of the customer waited for my 0930 live unload. This is a floor load of tires, I did several of these loads in the past, depending on the unloading crew’s motivation it’s usually a 3 to 4 hour unload.

I have about 3 hours left on my 70, I will start getting hours back tonight. I told dispatch I’m not interested in getting in a reset, with freight being slow this week hopefully they can keep me moving.

On a side note, I saw a concerning site this morning headed East in Iowa. An FCC truck pulling a reefer, no markings on the the trailer. NOOOOO!

Got confirmation the reefer was a one off trailer repositioning for a customer.

MidWest_MacDaddy, bzinger and BigR Thank this.

Sometimes you'll go to kc area out of the metroplex, sometimes from NE to KC. Just depends on how freight is moving that day, and what they need moved first. They also have the relay drivers at the yards and need to keep loads from/ to certain shippers/recievers on hand to keep them working. We're all cogs in the wheel that keeps this thing moving

A couple more that aren't pronounced as you'd think. Nevada, MO is pronounced Ne-vaada, and Miami, OK is Mia-ma. And don't let a local hear you pronouncing Arkansas City, KS as it's spelled, it's Ar-Kansas City lol
