I'm at PepsiCo in Edgerton, KS. Breakdown suggested that but I didn't see a yard dog anywhere. Breakdown opted to send a truck since they can be here in 30 minutes.
It probably broke because I tried to dolly down 40k pounds of beverages in high gear. I dollied down 44k pounds of beer in reefers when I drove with Magnum and never had an issue. Even the few FCC trailers I've done it with had no issues. This one snapped in a second with a bunch of rust falling out.

Just dolly down far enough so that your pads touch the ground. Drop your bags and pull out. That way you’re not putting unnecessary stress on the dolly handle and when the next guy hooks to that trailer he won’t have to dolly down to hook it up.
-
I was trying to hook up to a trailer that was dropped too highbzinger Thanks this.
-
I see. I thought you were dropping it. If the last guy that pulled that trailer would of did what I said you wouldn’t of had an issue.
-
Weird, there is usually a yard man running around there.... he's probably parked around back sleeping, I've seen that too lolbzinger Thanks this.

I’ve had it happen a couple times over the years, never here at FCC. The second time it happened, I now carry a spare handle with me. I also carry latching hitch pins because in the past I’ve gone to crank the landing gear up and the bolt holding the handle is broken or missing.Attached Files:

Nevada County Arkansas is pronounced as above and El Dorado, Ar is El Dor-aado.cdavis188, BigR, bzinger and 1 other person Thank this. -

I gotta say though even our old 3500 and 3700 series trailers that we still had a few of floating around until recently, we're still in better shape than a lot of newer trailers I've pulled elsewhere!MidWest_MacDaddy, runningman0661, cdavis188 and 2 others Thank this.
