Hvac breaker on APU keeps tripping, or so says the little screen. This was one of my concerns when I put my truck in the shop earlier this week and it's somehow worse when I got it back. First night it worked without a hitch but now it'll trip several times a night, meaning several times I wake up to an 85-90 degree cab. Looks like I'll be idling the truck again until someone figures out what's going on.

Why do FCC use these junk Carrier APU's again? I've not been impressed in the least with the two I've interacted with. It seems best if they just ditched these APU's entirely. A lot more trouble than they're worth. This is truly my only complaint with this company.

    Ohhh it's just a baby .
Unfortunately fleet apus don't receive the best maintenance and alot depends on who did the installation....its to early for the generator to have failed so my guess is the capacitor is bad or there actually is a short.
Is It throwing any codes ? Like low voltage ?

    BigR Thanks this.

No, the APU engine itself starts and runs fine. But when I turn the A/C on, after X amount of time it'll turn off with HVAC BREAKER showing on the screen. APU still runs.

Yes the engine will still run in that condition .
The hvac system runs on 110 ac also that comes from a generator under the engine.

I've had carrier , tk and several others .....all have theyre issues .
I have 23000 hours on my carrier and it's had its issues also with the most troublesome being electrical problems early on that took 6 months to track down, and a new generator at 15000 hours .
Other than that I keep it clean inside and out , run high quality synthetic oil in it that gets drained no later than 800 hours with all filters changed .
I change belts every year and toss the alternator every other year .
Have very few issues with it that way and when I do it's nickel and dime stuff .
