I got kinda excited when tk came out with the evolution series and almost bought one but glad I didn't because a buddy did and it was non stop engine cooling system problems , fuel pumps and a long chapter of electrical problems.
He once joked about how quite it was compared to a carrier and then said it's because it never runs.

It's mostly about how well you maintain them and keeping the components clean .
Every 6 months I wash out the engine housing along with the radiater and condenser coil .

Nowadays with all this cheap made in china garbage, basically playing roulette with anything we buy anymore…it’s crap shoot whether or not its garbage or not…maintaining it can help but if it’s a lemon, then the oerson is screwed….

That is true, couple year's ago I bought a cheap gas powered leaf blower that was a total pos ...it died an early death when I whaled it against the garage wall smashing it into several pieces after I got blisters trying to get it started.
I felt very good about !

So I noticed while looking for work a previous employer noted that I was side swiped by another vehicle in their truck, but no police report, no damage to the company truck, cameras clearly showed I was not at fault. This was reported to my potential employer as an accident. I did not list it because from all I know it wasn’t an accident. I’m calling pettiness on my previous employer. Am I wrong?

All fine and good except for running to no idle jurisdictions in the summer. I get why they're dropping them I just hope they (and I) don't come to regret it.

I had decent luck on my last Sleeper gig with one of the battery "APU" systems but a) the truck was new so the batteries weren't tired yet and b) there was no inverter so I don't know that it would hold up to the 'hotel' loads (I had a Coleman plug in cooler and a lunch box oven but I suspect a real fridge and nukerwave uses a fair bit more juice). Also broke down and got a CPAP since then and I'm sure that uses a fair bit of juice.

    bzinger and runningman0661 Thank this.

A 12v truck fridge uses far less battery than a Coleman cooler, simply because it only runs when it needs to, where a Coleman runs continuously. I have a factory installed fridge and a 30 qt portable fridge. Combined they use less amps than a thermoelectric cooler.

DonRobbie, cdavis188, bzinger and 3 others Thank this.
