I once saw two whales swimming out to sea while crossing the US-181 bridge in Corpus Christi, Tx

Then there all those gators swimming around the Atchafalaya bridge on I-10 in LA

Used to cross this antiquated piece of a bridge almost everyday, up to 117k.
They finally condemned it like.. 4-5 months ago after i took this picture a huge slab of concrete fell the 100’ into the river.

When they worked on it they’d stop you on it, it’d bounce and sway, but they have to have give or they’d fall.

    Back to dreaming about falling.

Whales?!? I've never heard of anything but dolphins being in the bay, much less the harbor. Going to have to check with a friend's bf who works at the port.

I hate that bridge because it's 55 MPH and trucks are restricted to the right lane for the entire 18 or 19 miles. Ain't nobody got time for that.

I was stopped at the top of the 1-10 Mississippi River bridge in Baton Rouge lady week. It was bouncing pretty good. Thinking about how it’s handling double the original capacity it was built for. Looking around at all the Big Trucks stopped all around me. That’s a lot of dead weight to be bouncing around with. Yikes !!

I’ve recently developed a fear of heights climbing a ladder. I made it halfway up to the roof of my 2 story house. Ladder started shaking, I started shaking. I chickened out. I’ve known 2 people that became brain dead from falls. Family friend was installing a pull down ladder in his garage. The other, a lifelong friend just recently fell through a garage roof, while inspecting it. He was a tough guy. Toughest around. Lived through all types of dangerous situations. Experienced Contractor and smart. It was a shock. Found dead by another friend who owned the garage. If he can have an accident, anyone can. Another Family friend, a Trucker, fell while building a polebarn. He lived, but required surgeries and rehab. I’ve climbed and cut big trees down using a small chainsaw and even a bow saw. Never worried about falling. Always climbed trees as a kid. We’d climb on the roofs of buildings in the city for fun. I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to do my roof, and windows. The 2nd story is only a 25’x28’ section with a 12/7 pitch. Piece of cake, except for the height, getting up and down from it. Last 2 story house for me.

Came out of Enid, OK with a cattle trailer full (top to floor/front to back) of Lespedeza seed. Sailing right along as seed were light.
On a US hiway, coming East, I dove over a little rise and descended on to an old red steel bridge. Had the crisscrossed rods with turnbuckles
in between the side framing. as tensioners or something. Fairly long so I was fully on it. I think I had the Farmall wound and felt a little quiver and the rods began to flap against themselves. Kind of a wham., wham, wham, as I crossed.
I don't think I ever worried as much; in as short a time, about something that was gonns hold or give...

I had a similar issue before I started in the oil field. I was in the bucket rigging everything up in the wind. Especially high when the Coil Tubing would need me to go all the way to the top. That #### bucket would fly everywhere but after awhile it just became easy and it went mostly away.
