Fed Ex at it again in OK

Everybody walked away all 18 are still on the ground. Its the interstate I do you really maintain the 9 second following distance at all times? This could've happened to any of us on the forum. Don't act like it couldn't have.

I blame FedEx more than anybody you don't run fast in snow and ice with a set of wiggle wagons.

 

If you're the safety director and a driver calls you and says I was driving in snow, the truck in front of me spun out and I drove down into the median you'd say good job? Or would you say you were going too fast for the conditions? I don't agree that it "could've happened to any us". Some people maintain a speed and following distance in this type of weather which makes to possible for them to stop should something happen in front of them. Of course it could have been worse but then again all accidents could've been worse. FedEx was clearly also going too fast for the conditions. Two wrongs don't make a right. Bottom line he was driving too fast for the road conditions. The "pro" would have come to a stop on the road.

Sure is not because of safety, but the schedule of the load.

 

Listening to the audio it sounds like the truck with camera was talking on cb and not paying attention to what was going on in front of him. Also too fast and following too close.

 

Actually he wasn't on the radio until the very end. Any time there's a wreck and no damage or injuries, its a good day.

 

Yup, could've happened to any of us, BUT - as said, still driving too fast to come to a stop.

Harry would not have been happy.

Good job Freymiller...... yeah going to fast but way to make lemon aid from lemons imo.

If you listen, the Freymiller does key up and say "Fedex just wiped out!" And while it is often hard to judge speeds from dashcams, it doesn't appear as if he was slowing very rapidly. It almost looks as if he was figuring on FedEx leaving the road clear after his wipeout. Definitely not a pro, just very lucky. He'd have collected that pickup if they hadn't kept moving around the front of the FedEx.
