I'd have to say ups drivers for the most part are much better drivers than FedEx drivers are...I know ups has there share of morons but how often do you see ups involved In wrecks of this magnitude on a regular basis?

It's a shame and very sad. On the speeding note, I get my doors blown off every night by speeding Fed Ex trucks running either I81 or I78 in Pa. I'm usually rolling along at 65 and here they come passing me like I was in reverse. Yet I've never seen one pulled over by the po po. Makes ya wonder who greased whose palms........or with what

I never will understand--how/why people who read an article in the news--feel they must speculate on what/how something happened--and then typically the same people will start to bash the media on how they reported something---There is a fairly obvious reason why state hiway patrols have very experienced ax investigators--and typically these investigations are long drawn out affairs.....
However/whyever this happened--it sux--my heart goes out to all involved...joseph1135, haycarter, Derailed and 8 others Thank this. -
I'd say they are just scoping the school out and the second trip would be with the parents.
This is a sad story all the way around. -

Incident: 00171 Type: Fatality Location: I5 N Sr32 W Onr / Sr32 Loc Desc: 2 MI JNO Lat/Lon: 39.749452 -122.202463 -
It was a solo F.E. driver and the bus driver, along with 3 adult chaperones and 5 students who lost their lives. [latest update]
Fed Ex on the I-5 corridor have in recent times actually slowed down for the most part, they seem to be averaging 62(+/_) however....the posted (and rarely enforced) speed limit is 55, most of us are running 58-60 especially in that flat straight stretch between Red Bluff and Williams. Guaranteed, the truck enforcement will be accelerated due to this incident. So you folks running I-5...perhaps toning down your speed to 57-58 would be a good idea, along with backing off the close proximity to the bumper in front of you.
Personally...I'm tired of the hot-dog/Rambo style driving I have to deal with all the time...mostly by foreign drivers...(I will leave that distinction of nationality to the readers discretion)Prime-Mate, gpsman, Sly Fox and 6 others Thank this. -

Yes maybe but I think in this case FedEx will get more of a black eye.
