No bank President next door. To my left is a Retired NASA scientist that worked on the Apollo program, to my right is a senior engineer for a major tech company, across the street is an Ophthalmologist, and the one next to him is a retired Pediatrician. Then there’s my wife and I, a realtor and her Linehaul truck driver husband. Everytime I'm home and see my neighbors, they are always asking me about what I’ve seen, and where I’ve been. My neighbor, the Apollo guy and I always talk about the fact that he and I have something in common, I can’t do his job, and he can’t do mine. Then over the last 19 years as neighbors, I always ask him for a truthful answer to a question I’ve had the last 55 years, Did we really land on the moon?

This has been an ongoing discussion for 19 years. Everytime he explains something about the moon landing, I bring up another question. He hasn’t fully convinced me we did.

Hometime is over. Today is a travel day back to the truck in Olive Branch. Will be back at the truck about 10pm tonight. Will be back at it tomorrow. Few last minute things to take care of.

I do know this, the traveling via air for hometime is a rather nice perk. I have it down to a science about making it easy. One little carryon, no check in at the front counter, both my wife and I are TSA exempt, including flying overseas. From the moment my wife drops me off at the curb, to sitting at my gate, it’s less than 20 minutes.

I saw DEF for sale in our local Costco, can't remember the price, would that work in your truck?

If it was in a box, it would work, but boxed DEF is usually way more expensive than bulk at the pump.

    JohnBoy and kylefitzy Thank this.

My flight from home to Memphis turned out to be a total flustercluck. Because of the 10 inches of rain over 3 days, my 2 hour plane ride with me getting in at 3pm turned into a 14 hour ordeal with me finally getting back to the truck at 2am Wednesday morning. Had a message on my phone to take my 10 and then do a couple of local pickups. Started at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon and was done at 7:30pm. Yesterday was a 7 hour day, and today is the same.

When I say local p/u’s, it’s only D/H at the customer, then bringing it to either, Olive Branch, Memphis, or Humboldt. Some days, I’ll drop and hook 10 trailers. When I run Linehaul, it’s a 50/50 shot of hooking a 53’ or building a set. Whatever configuration trailer I bring in, I bring the same out. Doubles in, doubles out. 53’ in 53’ out. Me, in my old age, I enjoy nothing more than seeing a 53’ In my mirrors. But, I will say this, since I’ve started this gig, I’ve lost a much needed 25 pounds, and have gotten much needed exercise. I had my yearly physical when I was home. My Dr was speechless, all my vitals, bloodwork and overall health had improved 10 fold. It must be all this rest I get. lol.
