A lot of pay depends on the terminal. If it's a busy one. I'm pretty sure it being a major city it's busy especially if they have to have a hiring event. For instance my terminal P&D has a lot of OT. I run linehaul and been here for almost 2 yrs should clear 70k and have a bid schedule. We make less then a lot of the other LTL's but it's laid back and their not out to fire you cause your hard to replace. Think linehaul starts at .46 cpm and P&D at 18.05 hr. Linehaul doesn't do dock work really at all, just drop and hook. You being in Cali they have mostly new Volvo's for trucks. I don't have much info on P&D cause I don't do it but former P&D guys that go to linehaul stay in linehaul cause it's better pay and not physical just have to deal with nights. Oh yeah out medical benefits are probably the best and you pay zero out of each check. Just co pay when you get stuff done. It's why a lot of drivers haven't jump ship to other LTL's. Plus like I said its way laid back.

We don't get overtime pay... or at least not the traditional "time & a half". What state do you run out of? We start our guys at 36 cpm (probation) and 39 cpm after their 90 days. Then a 2.5 cpm increase every year until we cap at 50 cpm

Hmm. I started at .399 cpm. But I haven't asked the new guys what they started at. I heard they were starting at .46 cpm to be able to get people on board. could be at .41cpm now. I didn't have to start at .36cpm. Honestly on the OT I haven't received a check with OT cause I haven't worked hourly. But I was under the impression they got OT. Maybe I was wrong but I'm pretty sure they get OT. I can ask someone. Maybe terminals can finagle the pay a lil bit. Weird. Top out is .51 cpm after 3 yrs.

My pay and benefits sheet states that all pay includes OT. Regardless if you are hourly or not. My average week during the slow times is 42 to 50 hours. I also did not start at 36 cpm... they started me straight at 39 cpm. I am now making 43 cpm with a bump coming up soon.

ABF did this last year on craigslist. The sole reason jumped to them and started my LTL career. It was up for a few hours and stupid lucky to see it. The barn had 8 retiring drivers within 3 months, TM was desperate lol. sure as crap in a toilet. 8 retired in 3 months.

Is it mandatory to have prior doubles experience? ( I have T,and X endorsements but have never pulled anything but a dry van)

No. You don't have to have the experience. All my prior driving was flatbed. You will get the hang of it. Not that hard. Just double check all your work when hooking. We've had people lose trailers on the interstate before.
