Finally my class A

    Spent the past 13 weeks in trucking school and had my CDL test today. Passed with a 85 out of 90 on pre-trip, 0 on maneuvers, and 15 on road test. Now I`m heading to Star Transportation out of Illinois starting Monday

    Not to get picky, but there is Star Transportation out of Nashville, TN (now a subsidiary of Covenant) and Star Transport out of Illinois (sometimes referred to as "blue Star" and "red Star" respectively).

    Just make sure you know which one you're headed to. When I was at Star in Nashville, there was a guy who thought he was hiring on with the other one....it's gone the other way, too, from what I've heard.

    It`s Star out of Illinois. Just got done with orientation today and am waiting for my trainer to pick me up...probably sometime Sunday or Monday. Spent all week in "class" but got a taste of a REAL truck when I did the road test for them. 13spd Pete 387`s with Cat engines.....nnniiiccceee. Granted I have nothing to compare it to besides CDL school trucks and military Ford daycabs but still...I think I`m gonna enjoy this.
