UPS has a few different companies. What I think you're talking about is UPS Truckload. UPS Freight is an LTL company that pays .70 cpm and $27 an hour. It's definitely possible to make $100,000 per year there.

It happens. UPS makes it hard to know what's going on. I've heard stories of people who thought they were going to work for UPS Brown, and wound up at Freight.

I worked Ups as a package car driver, we had a union. Without a union they can fire you just like that. If they believe you really did that they would not make it up but they would have proof that you did it, The company is about integrity.

You're absolutely right. There was a situation recently where a driver was fired, and the supervisor told me later on that if the driver had just told the truth about what happened, he probably would have kept his job.

Apparently you're confusing Truckload with the company drivers. Truckload is Non Union and yes they get paid crap. Linehaul drivers can make over $100k, and so can the P&D drivers if they work as a Combo Dock/CDL driver or Extraboard. So it wasn't S..T that I was making up. It's a known FACT.

I had an interview with ups yesterday. With all these confusions and discrepancies, with very low pay. I decided it isn't for me. What raised a red flag was how the interviewer was stressing on a point that "it isn't a sprint, its a marathon". You start low and in a few years end up high. He talked a lot about how they use overtime to makeup for the not so good rate. Which is all b's...no employer gladly hand you 20 hours or so per week on overtime at 37/hour working at the docks. If they could hire to get the same hours covered for less? I cant run my affairs at 17/hour and 42 cpm, Jose. Its all b's folks, at least for me it was.

I mean that's fair. Beginning at UPS is very difficult. It's not for everyone.

And if they were offering you dock work, that was UPS Freight.
