i think you are right---just get them to replace the starter--under warrenty--rather than screw around and just replace solenoid--its sure giving you lots of grief--hopefully that will fix up all the issues--especially with the cold weather starting
First major issue with my truck....

i've decided this is strike 2. same problem, twice. I'm going to have the starter replaced, and if the problem pops up again, then its the flywheel itself. Which would take the better part of a week to have a dealership replace it, i'm guessing. (Sorry REDD....i ment the better part of a month?) if the problem comes up again, i'll ask for another T660, even if that means they have to find a load for me to Phoenix to pick one up. If they refuse, then i'll tell them i'm done, they can have the truck, and then terminate the lease based on breach of contract.

thats not quittable--its just a starter for gods sake--its not like your whole drivetrain fell out on the road or something
get it replaced and suck it up--poop happens-- its life --then get back on the road and get to work -

But like i said, this is strike 2. one more and i'll be taking the truck in to get it traded in.
update:
sitting in Lancaster, TX., pulled up to the shop, and they tell me that to replace the starter will take 4-5 days. Told em i wasnt waiting that long. Then got with my driver manager and asked him to find me a load tomorrow going to eastern iowa so i can take it back to the KW dealership that didnt fix the problem the first time around, and this time, telling them to repalce the starter. I'll be marking the starter with a marker that only shows up under black-light, so when the work is "done", i'll double check to see if it actually was changed or not, BEFORE i leave the lot.
its under warranty. and if the manufacturer pays the dealership for warranty work regardless, why do so many NOT want to do warranty repairs? regardless, it gets replaced this time around...end of story. i'll just be real careful where i'm parking, and when i turn off my engine.
You are correct REDD (#### did i just say that?), leasing isnt for quitters, that is why i'm doing my best to stick it out. the miles are great, the income is great, not having an issue 'keeping my head above water'......so as long as the same problem dont keep costing me money. Lucky for me, i got the load back, but had to run from Harrisonville, MO to Dallas from midnight to 10a. to make my 11a live unload appointment. (i did take a 1.25 nap along the way when i couldnt stay awake) -
Take it to MHC KW there in Dallas.... And I'll walk over & look at it myself!
