    455 or 510? I sold my 2017 with 600k for $90 in January of 22.

My friend with the tank company has 8 or 9 that are all 510’s from 2019 to current. He also has roughly the same number of X15’s. And last year and this year he’s overhauled 5 of them and deleted one that had constant problems. One truck was at Peterbilt in Lincoln for 62 days because Cummins was fighting overhauling it under warranty and the truck had 210k on it.

Everything is a crap shoot these days it seems like. But I’ve had good luck with the ones I’ve had and between my friend and my brother and what they’ve gone through with a Cummins I’ll never order one.

About 9k a month actully towards the end here.....but yea. Since ive owned it my average is around $4000 or so a month. Worst month was close to 37K in one go all on emissions and tows. If you want to count down time my worst month was just shy of $67,000....Granted not all of that was engine related but the lions share was.

Glad i finally got out from under it. I wouldnt wish a paccar on my worst enemy. Pitty too because the engine itself was reliable amd fiarly efficent. Its all the #### attached to it that was the issue. Not to mention how poorly built this 579 is. Not sure if ALL paccars are like this...but mine was a living ongoing nightmare from day 1. My heart freezes anytime i hear a ding anymore.

This #### makes my heart freeze because i know im not getting out of the shop for less then $5K minimum. Usually way more.

Bloody tell me about it. Ive been looking for months for a good old iron rig. They seem to come in 5 flavors anymore. 1. Lowish miles but costs almost as much or more then new. 2. Clapped out and held together with duct tape gum and hope. 3. On their 4th or 5th rebuild and still commanding 100K+ prices. 4. Some weirdly speced rig that is entirely bloody useless for anything i would use it for. 5. Low miles because some bubbah hackjobed a "glider" together out of junkyard parts while still asking 100k+ for it.

I gave up since of the 9 trucks i went to see i could tell just looking at them, that they were going to make my 579 look reliable by comparison. And the last one was sitting in a pool of its own fluids and the guy wanted 75K for it....

I'm not trolling. How is giving credit to the flatbed drivers negative? I have the best family and job in the world. Breed born and raised in the greatest state of Arkansas. I guess that's negative?

They rebuild cylinder 6, changed 2 injectors kept it in shop for 3.5 months.. I keep asking if it was computer, they said no. Finally they unplugged the computer and seen the harness had a broken pin. So maybe a $500 harness cost me 18,500 AFTER they give me $5000 off. For things it didn’t need fixed in the first place, paccar got involved on that truck, they didn’t know how to fix it.
I was born and raised in Arkansas, still live there

It’s not an argument. Usually when someone states an opinion and then says something that makes zero sense it would be nice if they could explain where they are coming from.

Sounds like my experince when my SCR literally melted. They replaced nearly everything before we got to that point i think i have the list over on my thread someplace.....but at the very end they quoted me over $70,000 at multiple dealers and indies who all insisted because of the way it failed the whole system had to be rebuilt and replaced. I still have people call me a lair for that dispite still having the quotes in a box someplace.

Also reminds me of when my EGR broke. They threw just about everything at the engine upto and including a $20,000 turbo repair and were telling me it needed a rebuild until the shop i now use pulled the EGR and found that little valve door inside broke off the spindle and got stuck causeing ALLLLL my issues. $800 repair after i had already sank almost 29k and 3 months into it.

I go into KW in Jonesboro, they all know my name in the shop… I guess I made an impression when I wrote that 18,500 and change check and left with the MIL light still on after 3.5 months

Hello, company driver here. I drive a 2019 pwterbilt 579 with approximate 600,000 miles. The wrench light was on . And the check engine light was on.

I have never driver peterbilt before. But the truck was running ok. And the two lights would come on and off....just my experience here.
