Not necessarily, myself and everyone I work with run 80k everyday. Diesels are built to always run under a load, it's the idle time that causes the issues. If the engine has a ton of hours on it I'd be skeptical. I was in a spare truck for about 2 weeks while my clutch was getting replaced, flat top Mack with a 445/10 spd and it had 602k miles with over 27,000 hours...talk about a rough life for a truck.

Around 2015 they redesigned the fuel system and the EGR. Earlier years were plagued with problems and were basically underpowered junk.
