This happened to me last night at a Love's near Houston. I wheeled in to get me a sack of Arby's sandwiches (5 for 5 makes a few nice cheap meals when you can't get to anything else).

There was two spots open in the lot and the truck in front of me took one of them. I proceeded around the parking lot, did a u-turn to avoid blindsiding into the spot, set myself up, and started backing in. Next thing I know, this ####### throws on his headlights and lays down on his horn. I jump out of the truck, run to the other side to make sure I wasn't about to hit something, then proceed to backing in. He then runs up to my truck and starts yelling at me that his buddy (another flatbedder, same company), will be there in about 20 minutes and he is saving his spot. He tells me this while yelling at me for not having my CB on.

Needless to say, I said I had some business to take care of, and to get out of my way. I backed in, turned the truck off, got out, and he was standing right there jumping into my business again. I was just about to tell him that I was only going to be there about 10 minutes, but after that I made a few threats of my own, he walked back to his truck, and I went inside.

Not sure where this guy got off trying to save a spot to begin with, especially when that was the only spot left, but he pissed me off so badly that I waited until a Stevens Transpot truck was coming around the corner, got on the radio and told him if he wanted to turn around I was pulling out of my spot. He thanked me, turned around, and backed in as I was leaving. :)

All this guy had to do was "not be a ########", and his running buddy could have had the spot right beside him when I left. As a matter of fact, the guy hadn't even got there yet when I was leaving, LOL.

Some people make you wonder. You can't save a spot for someone when there are no open spots left. Its not a grade school caffeteria. I would have said F-off and kept right on backing and the same thing when he said something after. Good story thought I like the thing with tellin the other driver your leaving and he can have that spot.

They give me a lot of guff too.

So I was backing into the Petro in Joplin maybe two weeks ago. Driver gets on my CB and tells me i'm not backing like "He would have done". Said "If i don't hit anything, what do you care?" Then the fun started. He jumps out of his rig and starts #####in me out because I'm apparently scraping both trucks as i backed up. Looked over at the maverick and he was good. Looked over at the JB Hunt and he was good. I was straight in and I told him "If I wanted to be Impotent, Single, and going home to Momma's house when i'm off the road, I'll ask you for it. Till then, F- Off."

Never assume that a greenhorn can't get it done.

Tip for new guys- If you do your training and classes with an open mind and a closed mouth, you'll go far.

i had something simular to this i drive dump truck and during a run i dumped the load and ran to the mcdonalds in the truck stop up the street off of i 80 and this guy got out of his truck and told me that i cant park my truck there because his buddy is at the factory 2 miles down the road i said well im going to get food time is money and i will be gone in 10. he told me no i have to move and i leave my keys in my truck and runnin i mean this is iowa and this is a 10 spot place so he told me that he was going to move my truck well i had a black eye from a hockey game that i was in a fight that week and i told him that i didnt get this by jerking off in my truck waiting for my buddy and if you tuch my truck its going to happen to you and well to be short he left me alone and jumped in his truck.

i would have no problem with what he said but i was only going to be gone for 10 mins. not like i was going to be there hours

Shouldn't matter how long you were going to be there. If his buddy wanted the spot he should have been there before you. Its nice if you can park next to the truck you are running with but come on...there have been plenty of times when I parked in the back where no one wanted to be anyway and my running partner didn't have any problems getting a spot next to me. But then again...I can walk. I know it won't kill me, and at ts with limited parking it all fcfs. I just act like I can't hear them and if they get in my face I just ask sometimes If they would like to see my load bar and mention I might not be a man but i can still make em hurt if they don't back off. Usually though when someone gets in my face, being a woman, a nice gentleman will help me out.

Cant believe the neck of some of these drivers,

More neck than a heard of Giraffs
More cheek than 10 bare as##s

the first red neck that try's to pull a stunt like that on me will find himself sat on his fat ### right there on the lot.

regardless of how long you are going to be any where, first come first serve, that my policy and I stick to it. Ask politley how long I'm going to be, you will get a civil response. pull a stunt like those above, your on a hiding to nowhere.
