I have used peoplenet for about 7 years and almost universally, the issue is operator error and not the system. ALL systems can glitch or go down for some reason.. but with peoplenet as a whole, it rarely happenedgentleroger Thanks this.

At least a dozen times a week, my Peoplenet doesn't recognize my truck's ECM and has to be rebooted before it recognizes it again. (And I had the same thing happen with a different truck and PN unit). It randomly shows off duty on the top line, but is actually on drive or on duty. It is horribly sluggish no matter how few messages I have in it's memory. Touch the ELD icon to change duty....and que the Jeopardy theme, touch status, and wait. The touchscreen is so insensitive that I have had to plug in a wireless keyboard. The only way I can guarantee yesterday's log stays certifier is to do it thru the online portal. More than once, days after I do it on the dash unit, it comes up uncertified, do it on the portal every morning and it stays certified.(and other units I have had experienced similar problems, so it isn't this particular unit)...ducnut, Lite bug, 25(2)+2 and 1 other person Thank this.

Almost every day, my Peoplenet will display a "Not functioning as en ELD" message. I reach over a do a restart and it's back to normal, except for the little red triangle next the the row of icons for GPS ,Cell etc. Sometimes it will stop showing my location. And we rarely use the system for anything else but the ELD. Not much call for Workflow and none for the GPS directions.

We have about 10 trucks going haywire with databus connection issues gauges quit no cruise no jake .. boss replaced 2 ecms . Mine acted up I disconnected the motive elog waited 5 minutes and hooked it back up problems went away for two days I repeated the reboot problems went away again.. they did a update a month ago and it’s been a problem since .. boss is pissed after I told him how I fixed mine . Now he knows where the sudden rash of problems come from..

I will also randomly get the 'sudden acceleration event detected' popup when I am sitting still...after I have come to a stop in a truck stop and am preparing to put it in reverse to back into a parking spot....last time I checked...stopping is a form of 'deceloration'

Saying what I stated before of the ELD's I've had to tinker with and troubleshoot.. peoplenet has been the easiest to get back to work, but its like any machine. I have had to my share of antenna changes, connector checks and reboots, but that should all be done in about 5 minutes before you get out there,, We also had to lemon law an entire fleet of freightliners to get rid of the dreaded American only Mercedes issues .. its all or nothing! lol
