Sorry, smartwife, gotta disagree with you. When I was with Sygma my buddy was sent to California to help out Sygma out there. He asked me to pick up his paperwork from his mailbox. So I did it for him. We were talking about his week prior to heading out to Cali for a month, as he was asking for info off the pay sheet, it was a touch over $2000. He had been there for five years at the time. That was without extras routes. It can be done and other guys were, at that time, making more than him. Top earner the year prior to me leaving brought in $113k. Just cause you are the wife of a Sygma driver doesn't mean you know everything.

At Sygma for 4 years, last full year - '09 - I made $62,200. Never ran 1 extra route in those 4 years. Top guys in the Lancaster yard are always into the $110-$120 range and run a team and are always out...
smartwifeofsygmadriver Thanks this. -

dgman,
True, Just BEcause I am a wife of a veteran Sygma driver, doesn't mean I do know everything, I do agree with you on that one. I learn something new everyday. BUT, maybe I should of clarified a bit more regarding Sygmas pay....you CAN make close to 2000 a week with a single route that runs further distances from San Antonio, such as possibly Dallas or even the runs to Florida,,,,but local, Austin, & Houston routes run single, 3 times a week DO NOT make the $2300 mark...NOW, bi-weekly bonuses can get you close, but its not the norm. Also, I am only speaking for San Antonio, other centers like Dallas are union, and do make more pay. Yes, top driver can make $113K, but NOT on a local, 3 route, single route.....that I DO know, I have the W-2s...local, Austin, Houston and such, 3 routes AND hitting ALL top bonuses consistantly, gets them close to 80K. Just FYI.

Trein 444 - Ohio and SoCal are Teamsters. for the trashtruckin dude - most centers want 2 years of experience, at least most of the ones out here in the West do.
