Who are you going to lease on with? You could also start there, and see if they have anything going that way.

i would bobtail. 1717 miles will only cost you 3/4 tank. you'll get GREAT mileage with no trailer. take it home and do what it takes to get it registered. you'll only be out $500 in fuel roughly. you won't be able to haul a load till you get it home and registered anyways.

i would look closer to home. i wont buy anything unless i can see it and touch it first. plus you wont have so much deadhead to get your trailer.

What do you mean by you bought a tractor head? Is it a tractor, or a part of the motor?

There are what are called Tow-A-Way services that do just this kind of work.

I use Arpin Van Lines out of Rhode Island and sometimes use Landstar out of Florida.

Look for a load near where the trailer is now coming to where you want the trailer to be.

Then hire one of the companies to pick up your trailer, load it, and deliver the load or drop the loaded trailer with you and you finish the load.

How come you went from being in training at Trans Am, to having 15yrs experience, overnight near enough? Wasn't it last year you JUST started driving after working on tug boats or something?
Really? 1yr to 15yrs in a few months? Dude, nothing wrong with being a rookie, but there IS something wrong in pretending not to be, then dishing out no doubt bad advise based on that whopping one year of experience you have......
Correct me if I'm wrong by all means, while I go research some of your threads myself.
OP, you have given me a headache this morning, thanks.:biggrin_25523:
    Martin

    EDIT, Yep, I thought so....
    http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...ew-drivers/173430-mpg-w-o-trailer-skirts.html

From you first sentence in that thread "So I have a whole 2 weeks of driving solo under my belt........"
Now, I wouldn't have remembered you had you not had the attitude you did when you were in trucking school last year....food for thought.

Sorry for the off topic for the thread, but a 1yr guy giving advise when he claims to have been driving for 15yrs, needs to be pointed out IMHO.
