It is a place where you sometimes have to be assertive and/or take matters into your hands.

A friend of mine worked for them. He got hurt off the job and had to take medical leave, and then he was thrown to the wolves. No phone call from anyone at F&S to check on his progress, and their short term disability bent him over and dry ####ed him raw without a reach around or a pat on the ###, then he had to switch to long term disability and got bent over again. He was recruited by a friend of his, and he was treated just as bad, and their pay was nowhere near what was posted...maybe, and I mean MAYBE they would gross mid $60's. And forced perdiem, so the government and insurance companies see far less gross income when it came to short and long term disability. Based on how those two say they were treated, I would say run, don't walk away from them. This thread looks more like a recruiter posing as a driver to me.

I am glad to see they dialed back the projected earnings which, until a minute ago were unrealistic: "$1900 to $2400 per week. Work mon - fri with full 60 hr weekend. Both those sentences are true, or can be, but NOT at the same time. I went over this with two of the Op's managers ...maybe they agreed enough to reign in their colleague in the Recruiting Dept.

Foot draggers make about $85k, those who try but don't knock themselves out (me) make $100 to $120k and the real marines are getting over $140k.
They don't try to whip you along here - you can move at your own speed.

If that is what they were making then (sorry) they were f-ups who were not taking their jobs seriously and not profitable to the company.
Let's remember that numbers have been changing and pay has spiked for many in reaction to inflation over last 2 years. But even if this was 5 or 7 years ago, pay that low indicates (to me) a driver who is chronically not doing their job.

Nothing I have experienced with anybody in charge at this company suggests they would be intentionally callous or unfair.

Is your friend someone who blames himself first and rarely blames others?

He was by no means a foot dragger, and would take the weekend runs when offered...if given the freight he would run 125-130k miles a year. He and his friend both came from the same glass hauling company I worked for and went from $90k to $60k, plus had to deal with those ultra lightweight mini-sleeper regional trucks with one fuel tank and no APU or idle reduction equipment...then had to listen to management complain about his idle time when he ran his truck in the summer.

I got nothing on this company. But… every company I’ve ever worked for when chatting with other company drivers I consistently made 20%or more money than them. In trucking the pay really changes drastically based on the person and their work ethic. I know people that must take 12 hour breaks and think 400 miles is a day. I ran smart, ran hard, and constantly updated when I would be empty and what my hours available where. Doesn’t take long for a planner or dispatcher to understand your work pattern.

Don't know what to say about a story that contradicts everything I am experiencing and also hearing from all the other drivers I speak with - so you must excuse my skepticism - of your friend, not you.

They would not have such a great reputation (4.4 stars on Glass Door) if the story you heard was an indication of either the pay or the company culture. BTW, Glass door and other sites have wildly inaccurate and low ball salary indicators. Out dated data must be part of the problem, but the words of former employees on such sites are what they are and they are overwhelmingly positive.

    How long ago was this?

I applied with them when we first moved to Tennessee. But I just couldnt live in those short sleeper trucks. It was a deal breaker.

Such as ? Reprogram their truck ? Teach logistics how things work ?
Or as i did quit because they are farm league and waiting for things to iron out might take months...... I tried talking to them several times and all i got is lip service. I moved on
